Project description:
Benedictine College’s annual Symposium on Transforming Culture in America focused specifically on “Proclaiming the Real Presence: The Body of Christ in a Secular World.” The theme for 2023 addressed the power of the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist as a source of cultural transformation, contributing to the multi-year Eucharistic Revival project launched by the USCCB in June 2022. As the “source and summit” of Catholic faith, the Eucharist touches all aspects of the life of the Church, especially Her mission to evangelize individuals and culture. Proclaiming the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist proposes a response to the expressive individualism, social atomism, and technocratic materialism of secular culture.
